From a grassroots science movement to practical rural development
PRISM builds on a legacy that began in 1967 with Yuba Bijnan Sanstha, a grassroots science movement led by local youth in Gobardanga. Today, PRISM integrates scientific knowledge, community participation, and field-based implementation.
Its work places communities at the core through locally driven solutions, co-investment, shared ownership, women’s leadership, and children’s environmental stewardship.
